I have an 85 K100RS that the throttle went out on me. After taking it apart it was clear that the throttle tube and cam disc were both worn down and not meshing any more. I ordered new parts from BMW and the cam disc is not the same style. It seems to be the style from a newer model bike. The parts guy told me that's the same part number for all the years and makes with that type of assembly. It seems I would then have to also order a new cover in order to make this part work. Does anybody have any knowledge about this, or if it's possible to get the right part to replace it somewhere else ? I was going to add pictures of the two different styles, but the options below offer to attach a document and NO pictures.

Thanks

Click documents, you can then select your picture even though it says you can't.

Look in the options above. Click the icon indicated by the red square in the screenshot below. Follow the instructions assiduously; do not be fearful of commitment.  Smile  You'll then be able to make clear your dilemma because there really shouldn't be one.  cheers

Furthermore, you're right so get a cover, too. This helpful hint is from the parts fiche for your model and year at MAX BMW. Look in the Steering section.

The Daft section is the right-side column of each parts list. Smile

Thanks for you feedback. When I click attach a document it opens a new window that says "This page can only be open from posting on http://k100-forum.com" with a box to click "OK". When I click OK, the page is white and noting happens
