Desperately needed in Canada, a 3-core for my bike. Just been through two previously purchased, both of which leaked. HELP!

Use a 2 row core they work just fine. BMW changed to the 2 row core without any problems around 1984 and used them right through to the end of the K1100s

Okay. I’ll take what I can get my hands on then. Any idea why BMW went from a 3-row core to a 2-row core? With a 2-row there would be less coolant in the airstream at any given time provided that the tubes that the coolant flows through are the same size as the 3-row, correct? And I would think that while driving at slower speeds the engine would run hotter. I’ve digressed, but I wonder if BMW thought the engine was being over-cooled?

Thanks for the reply.

I've had both in a K100 and K1100 and didn't seem to make any difference. They probably figured that it didn't need the 3 row core.

Have one removed from my working 75K mile bike. Cleaned, repainted, leak tested, thermostat tested, all OK. Never put back on.

New addresses: July 2022. Still have the radiator.
