...for my friend, not me, obviously.
My friend has owned a K100RS 16v for well over ten years now and although he also rides another bike (a modern BMW) that he also really loves, he always maintains that although the modern bike is just better in almost every single way, if he could only keep one bike it would be the K. One of the many reasons for this is because he has owned it for so long, and done quite a few jobs on it over the years and he pretty much knows it inside out and just feels like it'smy his bike.
Anyway, my friend was telling me today that he had been contemplating getting one of those highly rated Eastern Beaver light relay kits that everyone seems to rave about for quite some time now. Not essentially because he finds the illumination particularly lacking on the (very) occasional night ride he does, but more so because he wants to retain the integrity of the original switch etc.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, he went ahead and ordered one of these kits from Jim in Japan and it turned up the other day. Waiting for a nice sunny day (that appeared today) to do the install he set about the task. As he was planning the new wiring route and offering it to the frame he caught a breather pipe which was a real pain to re-fit and much time passed and cursing ensued, however when back on track with the install on the bike that he has owned for so many years and continually harps on that he knows so well he spotted an Eastern Beaver headlight relay kit perfectly routed and installed on his bike that he knows so well.
I cant tell you how embarrassed he felt, but I do think he felt much better after he got it all off his chest to me (after I promised I wouldn't reveal his identity to anyone for fear of ridicule).
Anyway, to end this sorry saga, I'll close by saying that he has handed the kit over to me on the off chance that anyone here might want it for their original set up bike. I would fit it to my bike, but I told him that I too had considered purchasing the exact same kit but took the precaution of checking to see what I had fitted to my machine before ordering something from the other side of the world. Not doing so, would be the behaviour of a baffoon.
It cost him £62, but Ill take £50 posted to the UK if anyone here wants it. He told me to say. I'll pop a post up in the for sale section. On his behalf.
