Irish Eccentrics: A conversation with 88 a couple of days ago and the topic of the Christmas Brunch 2020 came up.

It started as I mentioned Christmas pudding production is proceeding to plan and the gluten free ones are also ready for cooking.

So, Stradbally Fayre is our usual haunt but social distancing etc etc is an issue. 

A sort of plan B involved meeting up on M7 at Junction 14 Monasterevin or at Junction 16 Midway for an outdoors option under cover as there are outdoor tables. Both options are suitable but being December need to be suitably covered up. If the outdoor option is used I can bring heated putting in an insulated container and the necessary cream etc etc. 

So, dates? Tuesday 29th? Wednesday 30th? Usual time 11am to about 1pm to allow for family time I guess.

I also need to pop this up on the FB pages.

Definately working on the 30th. 28/29th still in doubt.... my luck says I'll be on call or something similar as usual. Waiting for confirmation of which other days I'll be on call/working.

I think better count me out as usual.

Oh yeah, old age when sense prevails.

I have bought  a load of heated pads from Aliexpress, with controllers and usb connections. I will have heated boots, heated thighs, and a heated jacket. All plugged into the bike, or a battery pack if on another bike.

Riding for Bloodbikes over the winter has persuaded me of the benefits of external sources of heat.

(as well as the heated grips and seat on the K1200GT.)

I'm a cheapscate as well, I don't like the idea of paying around three hundred euro  for heated waistcoat, gloves etc, when I can spend around €30 and a bit of time installing it into my existing winter gear.

I have a heated waist coat....its still in the pack but the battery came in useful.

Just stick a lawnmower battery on the bike and watch it burn.

It's the only K that did not have a lawnmower battery. The others all have them.

Only to confirm I'm definately out. Working 30th, on-call 28th, 29th and 31st. Rest of the company has the week off, but all support teams have to work. I understand why, but sometimes it can be a complete piss-off.

Discussion tonight, I am going to contact Stradbally Fayre Monday and see if there is a need to book us in. Going for Tuesday 29th 11am -1pm if thats ok for all. Puddings to be provided as usual.

Looks like it's a non-runner this year. Lockdown looms again.

I have a pudding colleKtion here that's about enough to get me to the moon and back if I ignore global warming. Good news is that it keeps for months.

That's a shame now I was looking forward to a run , 
Just bought the remains of three 1970's Sanglas's so I'll have plenty to keep busy with ......

Not familiar with Sanglas bikes, I don't think they were sold in the U.S.. Really nice looking machines.

Mainly a Spain only bike , they made four strokes from the Early 40's till the 70's
I had one in the 80's/90's and loved it so now riding one again .....
Went to Holland two up around 1990 here's a pic

I remember the Sanglas, used as a military bike here and I liked them.

Meet up I think has to be later and possibly around Patrick's weekend.
