Hey, my name is Chris. I have been riding on a 1985 K100 for a few years and love it! recently have decided to take her apart, clean it all up real good and make a few aesthetic modifications to her.

Living in Colorado, enjoying all the mountain passes and desert roads.

Welcome! Durango is a nice town, and there's lots of good riding there. I rode there in 2016 after weed was legalized. It was like walking out of a time warp into 1967.

Strangest thing I ever ran into was coming into Mancos on US 160 on my way to Durango, I stopped at a rest area and found a guy smoking weed and recording himself playing Miles Davis stuff on the trumpet in the men's restroom. He was sitting on a folding chair and had a music stand with a chart. I didn't notice the recording setup until after I flushed the urinal. I apologized when he stopped playing, but he said it was okay and asked if I wanted a hit of the huge blunt laying in the ashtray. "It's really good stuff, man." LOL!

Greetings and welKome. I was last was in Durango, September of 2019 on a tour to Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon & etc. The trip up and over on the Million Dollar Highway is always memorable. 11,000'+ Little Molas Lake was a great place to camp in the '90s when I lived in Albuquerque, but I see it is now a bone-a-fide & legit campsite where you gotta get there early.

I also found a back way into the BMW MOA rally held along the river in Durango back in 1995. I was a spendthrift even more than nowadays back then. I could make copper wire from a penny.

Good to have you with us Chris.
Durango is an interesting place.  It's been years since I passed through.  If the trajectory from those days continued, I suspect it is way too "upscale" for my liking these days but hey, if you have the means....
One year I stayed in that big old hotel downtown -- I think it's the Staedtler -- hoping to see the resident ghost.
No connection with the other side that night.  Smile  Of course, that was before one had free access to substances that may help in linking up with a ghost.
