Just picked up a gorgeous Red '93 K75. Looking forward to getting to know this bike, and getting to know all the old-timers on the forum!

Don't hate me, but I fully intend to take this working, clean motorcycle, and turn it into a cafe racer. Goal is not so much to ruin a good thing, but more to strip away the non-essentials (fairings, radio, clock, and other mod cons), and expose the REAL beauty of these bikes, the engineering! (stripping weight doesn't hurt either). I'll try to turn this into a video series, though I've never done that before. I had loads of fun converting a '72 Honda CB500 prior to this, but obviously that's a much simpler bike (carbureted, no ABS, simpler electrics, etc). Now I'm up for a bigger challenge, and reading up the Clymer's , wiring diagram, paint codes, and specs.

A red one.  Good choice.  Any photos before the before the disassembly?

You may find a market for any unwanted fairing or frame pieces here.  I am particularly interested in 75S fairing bracket pieces.

Cheers, Dave.

Memories......my 1973 Honda CB500-4...got it back in the day after turning 18....and cafed it finding some amazing parts........loved it, modified gearing, cam, 4/2 pipes and riding position but I didn't modify the frame and kept all the original parts. A dented gas tank off a crashed CB750 came my direction, that got modified and a lovely fit....then I decided to add a full fairing and it became ideal for long distance camping trips.

It also started my love affair form Fiamm air horns...2 sets on my bench at the mo, for my K100RS that just came back from Spain and my K1100LT that I got at the end of October. Easy to fit to an LT/RT but a bugger for the RS.

Funny thing at the shop on Friday, a guy parked an R/RT beside me, started talking bikes and bike history and told me he had a CB500-4 back in the 70s. Only 4 in my area back then and Friday evenings had become coffee time together for the 4 of us so I asked a bit more.....and so I discovered that my old CB500-4 had landed in his shed from the guy I had sold it to.

Good experience for a K.

Here's a shot of the new (to me) K75. realOEM says it's a "K 75 85 (0562,0571)", but I don't recognize the fairing.

I can post a pic of the CB500, once I'm done with the rear end disc brake conversion.

My memory is not so good but I had an idea the CB750 rear end and disc could be mounted.

I have never forgotten the turbine feeling of my first ride on that CB500-4. Silky smooth and my 83 K100RS is just like it, super smooth, super unbusy, fairly similar gas mileage too.

Back to the future but it's not as envisaged back then. The R90S got dropped on us and smoked orange became the dream machine but so so expensive.

Possibly. I'm using a conversion kit from CognitoMoto
