I have just bought a 1985 K100RT. I seem to have trouble removing the saddle bags. After doing a lot of jiggling and pushing and pulling, I managed to get the left one off. Still can't get the right one off. Is there something I'm not doing correctly. It does not seem to be user friendly. Help.

Unlatch the saddle bag(1), tilt the bottom upward to clear the latch(2) then push the bag back toward the cowl(3). at this point you should be able to lift it from the rail(4).

Have a look from the rear at the way it hooks on and you'll see why you have to push it backwards first - there is a little tab that has to come back past the end of the rail before you can lift the bag off.

You probably fluked it the first time while jiggling it about - I know I did!

Thanks Crazy Frog and Stout. With your instructions I managed to get them off and I understand them better. Don't know what I'd do with out you folks.

If only we had eyes to spot that little plastic tab before we began the task the first time...
