A buddy and I rode out to the Pacific Koast at the northwest corner of the US yesterday.

Also the land mass did you ride right to left? How far would this have been, and the time to ride from one side to the other?

Continuing the 'challenge' of a K bike near the beach (new K, but it's got two wheels and the K moniker). Here's a coupla piccies of my recent weekend ride from Fife, Washington over the back roads, avoiding Seattle, to Issaquah, Fall City, Duvall, Carnation, Monroe, Lake Roesiger, the fantastic Jordan Road-Canyon Creek after Granite Falls, Arlington, then Sedro-Woolley. Stopped for the night with an SV650/R1150R rider-mate, then touching the Canadian border, back down onto Fidalgo Island near Anacortes, Whidbey Island (over Deception Pass bridge) to Coupeville, then on the Salish ferry to Port Townsend (Duck's current pueblo), to Quilcene, along the excellent Hood Canal highway 101 past Hamma Hamma to Potlatch, Skokomish, Belfair, Purdy, Gig Harbor, then state highway 16 to home again.

Here is the bike on the ferry at old Fort Casey in Keystone, WA. A massive 18 wheeler had just occupied the middle row of the ferry next to the three bikes onboard. Our fare was $9.60 for the short crossing while his was $115.

Above, you can see out to the point of Cape Flattery near Neah Bay, out at the end of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the waterway separating Canada from the US, where Duck rode with his K buddy.

This thread brings back fond memories. I once rode from Cape Flattery, clear across the country to the Atlantic. I then flew home via Halifax and New York. I have four Ks but could not afford to ship one of them over. See:

Nobbies Headland at Cabarita Beach, New South Wales, just south of where that 60 year old bloke was bitten - and sadly, died - by a great white last week at Casaurina. It was one of my favourite spots to sit and birdwatch. Good surf, too.
That was Canadian forum member Club C with us on his rent-a-bike K1200RS taxi.

North Queensland Coast, one month solo ride to Cape York for my fiftieth, back in Winter of 2010.

Not a great picture, but it is at a beach   Right in front of a nice garbage can!  Right now I've got the GS out and the K in the garage.  When I swap I can take endless beach pictures.  I am only a 30 second walk from the beach

During the lockdown and various country's travel bans it's been difficult going over my own plans for future rides, so having a look back at our various travels from the past has been enjoyable. For myself it reminds me how much of Australia is still left to explore on my red RS, if only I could get back there soon.
