Hello Guys,
Is it a major pain to fit a 19" wheel in the front of my K100? I want to go off road on it and would like dual purpose tyres. I have heard somewhere that gs wheels might fit with a bit of work. Any help is much appreciated

I think you might be limited by the fork brace in the sizes you can use in the front.  Removing the brace to fit a larger wheel would probably make the front end worse even with the larger wheel.

I am not sure a K bike is able to be modified for good off road handling.  The geometry of the front end has too little rake and trail along with too much weight to really handle well in poor traction situations.  I would suspect you will get a lot of weight training picking this bike up if you tried to go faster than a slow walk on anything other than a gravel road.

R1100GS or R1150GS 19" front wheels can be made to fit, with: larger ID bearings & oil seals, an axle-appropriate bearing preload collar inside the wheel's hub, and the distancing spacers on either or just one side of the bearings to fork legs which you'll have to measure and have made. Nothing BMW makes from any other model can be swapped in. You have to take up the area of the hub on the left hand side of the 19" wheel where the Oilhead's speedo drive gear, now no longer required, once was. Then there's the issue of how to attach the callipers as the two piston Brembos of a K75/K100 do not clear the larger 305mm brake discs required when using that particular wheel. So, you'll need either a machined aluminium spacer to spread the two pot Brembos out to clear the larger discs, or four piston Brembos, then a 20mm K11 master cylinder, throttle tube, brake hoses can be made to fit, as well as a K11 throttle cable and attachments down at the TBs. I do not address the issue of fork bracing where the mudguard/fender attaches, which would obviously need to be raised a smidgen. It can be done, but it's requires a little bit of fun.

Go to Profile, click on Signature, add you year and model info (the VIN is nice) and save it so we can see exactly which K bike you're talking about. Cheers.
