Hello Everybody. I rode to work for a half day and my 85 K100RS runs smooth as silk. I parked in the shade and left her on the side stand. About 4 hours later I saddle up and she starts but is firing on maybe 3 cylinders. She's running so badly Im a bit afraid to ride, but since its only 7 km to my garage I give it a go, even though she starts to die out above 2500 rpm and wants to stall at an rpm closer to idle speed. Its down hill or flat most of the way so ok here goes. We struggle up the first grades using the gears to keep the load at a minimum we get to the summit and I release the throttle and let her mostly coast to the flats (about 1 km). About 1 km farther she is firing on maybe 2 cylinders and I know I wont have enough power to cross the busy highway to get home.
On this side road there is a dirt yard mechanic shed, so I pull in and struggle to keep her running. She finally dies so Im glad to be here as I dont have an idea of what could be wrong. The jefe fiddles with wire connections and hose clamps for a bit to no affect, then pulls off the injector rail and tells me to start her up. I hit the button and she immediatly starts and revs to 7500 rpm and I lunge for the kill switch. Everybody smiles, he re installs the injectors I start the motor and ride home...smooth as silk. In my garage I pull her up on the center stand and give thanks. This morning she will not start.
I live in Nicaragua and my Spanish is pretty good, but the jefe's rapid explanation of the problem was way above my skill level. What do you Think ??
