Hello to all from a former owner.

I rode my first ever K100 when BMW first launched them in the UK. At the time I owned an R100RS and loved it. While I was unimpressed with the naked K100 I though the K100RS was superb and was determined to get one. Since then I've owned:

2 x K100RS
1 x L100LT
1 x K100RS 16v
1 x K1

From the K family, I've also owned:

1 x K1200S
2 x K1300S

While I've owned other non-BMWs I do find I keep coming back to the concept that the original K100 gave us of a sports motorcycle that will take hard luggage and a pillion, offering decent performance and fun  coupled with comfort and reasonable economy.

I currently ride a R100CS (nostalgia  )  and a Kawasaki H2 SX SE. 

I'm sort of thinking about the possibility of getting another K100RS as another nostalgia trip but I'm not yet  sure that's what I'll do.

A friend had a K75S when I had my K100RS 16v so I had a number of rides on that. Loved it for around town work - lighter, smoother etc. - but found it slightly lacking in the "get up and go" department on the open road. A great bike but the 100's were always just that little bit better. 

I only had the K100LT because my wife was coming pillion regularly and she found it more comfortable than the RS. She passed her test and bought a Yam FJ1200 which is why I then bought the 16v. (I had to make sure I could keep up!     )


PS - The friend with the K75S, who I introduced to motorcycles, still rides with me and is now on his 3rd K1300S!

And if you ever want to give the H2 away... I know where there's a (proven) good home

 There's already a long queue of friends who currently own a K1300S and will give it a good home but I'll add you to the end!
