I’m going to BMW Mechanic school over at Duck’s place! Had a sticky down shift which Duck correctly diagnosed as a dry spline. Took us about 2 hours to get to the transmission and spline which was dryer than the desert. 60 seconds to apply some spline lube now about 2 hours to put it all back together. Good times hanging with Duck though and learning s TON!

I've had that sticky down shift and the spline lube helped improve it but it never went completely

Use synthetic 75-140 gear oil and add half of a 50 gram tube of this:
