If it's making noise at the alternator then you probably just need to replace the alternator rubbers. Part 12311464877 - quantity 3.

If the rear seal is leaking then you'll have oil coming out of the weep hole at the bottom where the the bellhousing meets the transmission.

I looked under for that hole and all looks good there (and that is very comforting ). It's not making noise at the alternator as far as I can tell, but that gives me more of an idea what I am looking for. I need to squeeze another 1000miles out of her next week of pretty much just highway riding (unless that's a bad idea). Then I'll get in there and button her up tight again with whatever she needs.
