Just want to say Hi to everyone. Became an owner of a K100 LT last week, 30 years old but only 31K on the clock. This is the second K I've owned, had a 1100LT about 8 years ago, had great times with that including a trip to NordKapp, way past the Arctic Circle.
Back to my new acquisition. It came with an ABS fault - indicated by the usual flashing lamps.
First thing I did was jump on the forums and quickly set about re-setting the ABS. This did not work in this case.
I settled down to a bit of basic servicing and turned my attention to the spark plugs. I was stunned when I went to take the first one out - it was nipped up JUST beyond finger tight, the weight of the plug spanner was nearly enough to undo it. The other three were exactly the same - never seen plugs so near to starting to come undone.
Long story short, once tightened and taken for a spin ABS is cured, all lights now extinguished after the first few yards - and that slight hesitation I'd felt riding home from the sellers house - had gone - no surprises there.
The curing of the ABS fault I can only put down to the plugs now being well earthed and not sending erratic electrical pulses through the frame back to the battery - something the ABS ECU did not like.
However, what the Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away - I lost balance pushing the bike back into my garage and cracked the fairing -Doh!
