N.S. is recognized as one of the best riding area in North America. This doesn't come from me but from a U.S. Harley magazine!

During mi next trip to Montreal I´ll pay you a visit.

Yeah...winter over here sucks...sun-filled days, 10 to 20 celcius...absolutely no time to work on your bike. We are truly sick and tired of riding our bikes all year round.

I spent a detachment over in Goose Bay some years ago during winter, I never fully understood the word COLD untill then -30 + and pure white, some place.

I had no idea NS was so beautiful! How many months out of the year do you get to ride?

Yeap, my sister cries wen she returns to Montreal in january after christmas with us, from +30ºC and burning sun to -30ºC and cold light.
And we can ride all the year too

Yes it's a beautiful province but the best is even not on these pictures (ReneZ was living here and he can attest it). Cape Breton and the Cabbot trail is a dream for riders. The bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world and so on... To know more about it and see some stunning sceneries, check the official Nova Scotia Web site.
As a cherry on the cake, Nova Scotia people are very easy going.

About riding, I was just checking the weather report and I think that I can count my future riding days. Snow is on its way . Sometimes I am able to ride to the middle of December but it's pushing. I usually store the bike when the temperature on the ground is about 2 -3 degrees Celsius (35-37 Fahrenheit). This is only because of the risk of black ice. The season starts again by the middle of March or beginning of April. The roads start to be cleared, but the sides are still covered by the snow banks.
I already start to prepare for the winter and its a few weeks job.

Tell me Crazy Frog, dp you ever kick the beast into life during all that time or is that a wasted effort. My ignorance of cold climate is immense, I cannot get a ride in because I am busy mowing lawns and we have a very wet spring so far.

Oh yes, I get the itch...
During the long winter nights, I will tune the bike, clean it, and even seat on it just for the fun.
Maybe once a month, I will have the engine running for a 10-15 minutes.
It may not be the best, but you have to hear the 'girl' purring!
Can you imagine how hard it is to look at your bike knowing that you won't be on the road before 3 or 4 month?
Lucky you.... This is normally the time that I start to use my knowledge of the K100 to write articles and web pages... (see the EFI troubleshooting page or the interactive electrical diagrams)
This is the country and the life that I choose and I am getting the best of it. In spite of the cold climate, Canada has a lot to offer.
I am a proud Canadian ....Hey! (as everybody says here). This is the same as 'Mate' in the Ozzy language.

By the way, when my bike is at rest during the winter, I enjoy reading the stories of people riding on the other side of the earth. It give me hope for the months to come! Is that Internet beautiful? Without it, we would have never chat together.

Before, I was the web master for the BMW Owners of Nova Scotia. I resigned from this position because very few people from the club were involved. I was the only one working on the Web site trying to keep it interesting and active.
The difference here is that everybody is participating and take interest of this forum. A lot of forums are dying after 1 or 2 years due to the lack of interest of its members. This one is getting bigger and better over the months.

i do get to visit new zealand periodically and on past visits have experienced snow ...(had to drive in to the hills... rented car btw ...)

i remembr standing on the pass at rimutaka hill (near wellington ) and being covered in ice not that long ago ..last year i think .. and the colour changes are astounding ....i think one of our capitols "canberra " is the only place i have been that has colour changes as dramatic ...ive been to hobart ...(but must have missed the right season for such an event )

RT, I have managed to work it out and I am what's known a computer Luddite. Here's my technique, others may differ in their approach to the problem.



See that little square with two images in it above the text box six places from the left? Tick it. A window with 'upload your image' will appear. If you're choosing a file from your own computer tick that box and search for the image. Tick 'host it'. When it has loaded highlight the middle one that says 'image' and copy it. Now tick the little box just to the right of the first one you ticked to get the stuff out of your way. It'll say 'ok', that's the one. Leave it there for a mo' because now you can at least see where the image will go. Choose the place you want the image to appear and paste it there. Now press 'preview' and the second little box will disappear. Your image should be visible now.

This may be a circuitous way to go about it but it's the only way I've been able to work out how to place an image up. I'm bad with instructions (I call them destructions) and asking directions.
