I just picked up my first BMW today!

It's a non-runner, 1984 K100, I'll be browsing the forums for as much info as I can get, and hopefully get this beast back in tip-top shape in the coming months.

bit of a learning curve with the electrics , but nothing that hasn't been attempted before

fuel pump, tank residue is quite often the first place to start

Yeah, I've already discovered a few issues in the tank, there is a perished mount? In the tank, and the fuel gauge screw on cap has a crack in it.

I tried all day today to get it running, but I think I need to pull the injectors and test them before going further.

I just want to hear it running before I go all out and buy all the service items for it. Hopefully it's nothing major.

Coffs harbour? Beware a number of the krew (various parts of NSW and Queensland and the odd foreign visitor) will be in that area fairly soon. I suspect that your K100 won't probably be running in time for the meet, but if you have another steed, I am sure that you would be welcome along - and probably be able to learn a great deal about these bikes over a coldie or three. Have a look at the Northern Tablelands post for details.

Near Taree. As BAE has indicated the K circus with many Klowns will be in your area in about 3 to 4 weeks time. Might be a good time to meet up with the Krew......including one of our Pommie mates who is flying out for 5 days just to catch up and ride.

I actually think I'm on-call (the bane of my existence) that weekend, I'll have to double check the roster.

If I'm free from the slavery of work, id like to meet up and steal some knowledge from you guys.
