Hello all,

Joining this forum and saying hello.

On my 2nd K100RS since 1994.

Originally had a 1985 , in storage with a few things wrong waiting for the time I have time to restore it. Had great years on it including years of London commuting and honeymoon. When it started groaning ( alternator and compression issues, I think) I bought another about 8 years ago, always with the thought of restoring my original.

Now I have a 1984 K100RS , same colour. I just couldn't find anything else I wanted except the same again please. Just a fantastic all rounder and mechanically relatively easy to work on with my limited ability.

Kids and other life came along so bike took a back seat for a while. Kids growing up and now finding I have more time to get back to enjoying it again and getting it out of the garage more than a few times a year !

Hope to be able to contribute here as well as seek help on my projects. My original machine will fly again !

Presently having some weird starting issues after battery swap. Hoping replacing the spark plugs will sort it next weekend.

Anyway; saying hello to you all and looking forward to getting hands dirty and reading here Smile

Oh good another Eccentric......welcome on board and lots of K s around you.

Start up a new thread for your K and we will see what we can do, might even send the emergency repair team around to you...on a more serious note you are in the right place for technical info and an occasional meet up.

I am in Cork but lots more Ks around you.

Thanks for the kind welcome Olaf.

Ha ; Never thought of it as eccentricity but now you mention it..... Wink

Will open a thread at weekend if spark plugs don't fix my problem on my "live" bike. The original bike restoration is still some time way before TLC can be applied!

The Eccentrics name is credited to Comberjohn and was coined on the banks of the river Avoca the first time we K owners met up at Stradbally and we were enjoying a final stop before heading our separate ways.

If you want an incentive to get the bike out you need to know a few of us met up on last Saturday at Stradbally Fayre for breakfast and side and general chat, Stradbally being home of Electric Picnic among other things.

Apart from breakfast and later on tea and cakes at Nora's Cake Shop in Mountmellick we decided on a Norn Iron weekend up in Antrim to be 21 or 28 September. We have been doing this every year with I think just one break and its a most enjoyable weekend.

We also manage a meet up at Stradbally Fayre in the few days after Christmas, a sociable one, about 11am to about 1;30pm for Christmas Brunch and Christmas pudding.

We're a varied lot and you still have to meet Magda in Monasterevin...her K100LT is currently getting ready to go back on road and Isabella's K75 isn't far behind!

Times being what they are we have a facebook group set up for this weekend too...

Thanks all

Moved my older K100RS (1985) into garage at weekend and in a sorry state after years covered up with tarp outside. At least the tyres stayed inflated and wheels/steering all moved with little resistance. Good start!

Hope to brush off the crud soon and see what I can do.
