I have several big bikes, the smallest being an old Kawasaki GPZ900R. I recently purchased an 88 K100RS with 85,000km on the clock. It was imported from Japan and has some unique features.

As with all new mechanical purchases, a major service is needed as a baseline, all fluids, splines and some workto the fuel system.

I'm also after a dummy shaft that can be used to centre the clutch disc before tightening up the bolts. If someone knows where I can get one of those Id really appreciate the info.

Welcome along Justin - you're in good kompany down there, although perhaps a smaller concentration of K owners in South Australia than up along the NSW/Queensland corridor.

Try using the search function for tips on centring the clutch - I recall some chatter about using nothing fancier than a marker pen to help do the alignment; a much cheaper option than buying the bespoke alignment tool that will get used very infrequently.

Welcome to the asylum. If you really have to have one and you have access to a metal lathe. The dimensions for making one are around, and are also in the Haynes workshop manual in the clutch section 3.5 drawing 5.7c.

Welkome aboard! Depending on where you are in south Oz keep an eye on the forum for an inmate called Packo who is around Adelaide somewhere and a great K bike enthusiast.

I'm sure you will enjoy the RS - the K bikes are quite different to the Japanese bikes but be warned you do get hooked on them.

Thanks everybody.

I recently did the Klutch in my 100 series and Exedy include a plastic clutch alignment tool with the new clutch kit.
Can't say I have ever lined up with a marker pen before but being able to spin the clutch with the tool and reduce any tight spots would certainly be handy.

Looking forward to catching up with some of you blokes and hitting the tarmac.
