It's stretchy silicone stuff that sticks to itself without adhesive and is more miraculous than duct tape.
I always carry some now after blowing a radiator hose in Carmel one day. (And it happened on a Monday so all the nearby BMW dealers were closed. Arghhhh!)
It works great for repairing radiator hoses but has some other emergency uses too. Not applicable to Ks but people have used it to make emergency fan/alternator belts.
The week before last I was riding down through Oregon and the chin piece had fallen off of my Arai helmet somewhere??? Fortunately I had the rescue tape on hand and used it to make the helmet better again. Very glad that I had it.
