If you remove the cluster then the bike won't start in neutral anymore. The only way it will start then is with the clutch lever pulled in.

That's the short answer.  There are some workarounds discussed elsewhere in the forum.

Use the forum's search engine. These sorts of topics are covered regularly and you can find them almost instantly. If not readily available to you, or you can't find it, ask away.

Check this LINK for a previous discussion of the topic.

I am not running traditional instruments on my Big Block and have had zero issues without a warning lamp for the charging circuit.

I'm also quite interested in running those warning lights without oem instruments on my k75. I haven't had charging issues without the charging light either....and been riding with no visual feedback at all for a hot minute. Would be nice to get at least engine temp and oil pressure lights.

I'll take a look.around too, whoever finds the best info first wins.

Oil pressure is easy.  All that does is ground to illuminate the warning lamp.

You'll need a circuit for the engine temp though as that occurs at a resistance.

You really don't need it though.  The radiator cap will blow before any engine damage occurs - just like a car.

I found this
Replacing K1100RS instrument Fan%20circuit

Which seems to indicate I can run a bulb off the temp switching unit.  Any reason this wouldn't work?  I'm no electrician
