Ive started going through the various boxes of bits. Most stuff seems to be there. One glaring omission is the fuel pump. This isnt a huge problem since I have a new aftermarket pump somewhere in my spares boxes. One question though, the new pump is smaller than the original pump (well, smaller than a K100 pump - I assume they are the same). I know I have seen various posts on how to fit some sort of vibration damper to a chinese pump, but I cant find them and we dont seem to have a search function on this forum. So, at the risk of endless repetition of stuff, could someone suggest how to do it, or give me a link.

Hey Phil, have a look at the first page of my K75 renovation thread at the link below. The pump is a skinny Delphi type and I bought a sleeve from EME and a new rubber skirt and plastic surround to mount it using a couple of large worm clamps. Currently in excess of 50,000km with no problems using that arrangement.
Cheers

Thanks Gaz. I spoke to the bloke who sold me the bike and it turns out that he has the fuel pump, damper and screen but forgot to include them. He is posting them up to me so all good there. I'm going to pinch some ideas from your build anyway. I dont like low seat, and I have a single police seat on the shelf so that will probably get a go. First step is to get it running though.Gaz wrote:Hey Phil, have a look at the first page of my K75 renovation thread at the link below. Well, it turns out the fuel pump was seized. I took it apart and cleaned it out and got it to the point where it would turn over by hand, but was still pretty tight, and wouldnt go by electricity, so I gave up and ordered a chinese one off ebay. Hopefully it will be here by the weekend and I can try again.
