Just a query for those more in the know .
I am looking at swapping over the front forks and triple tree from an 87 K100RT to K100LT, and vice versa .
The K100LT will be used for display purposes only , not to be ridden again , as this frame has been written off by insurers.
The K100RT is hoped to get a make over, naked of sorts , to provide more airflow .

My question : can I remove the forks complete with triple tree as one complete component . what is the process to do so .
Thanks Ed.

The steering head and bearings are the same. It's a very easy swap Ed

.... and even easier if you just leave the triple clamps in place and swap the forks.

Thanks guys .
My thoughts exactly Nigel .
The front wheel on the RT is literally glued on , due to somebody ( not me) using locktite on the front bearing .
Which as it heated up spread to the axle , making axle removal difficult . So the remedy is to swap it to a non working bike .
