I took up Floyd's mirror idea and expanded it. I have replaced the original mirrors and indicators with an integrated handle bar set.
I got some vinyl wrap and covered the area where the original mirrors were then went a bit mad and did the windscreen and tank. It is not as easy as youtube videos make out!
I also got some matching carbon fibre BMW roundels.
This can all be done really cheaply. Mirrors $35. Vinyl wrap $20. Roundels $20.
Anyone want to buy some RS mirrors?
Footnote. I tried wrapping the cut down front mudguard last night and made a hash of it. When I tried removing the wrap some paint came away with it. Ho hum.
Footnote 2. The airhead is a mates bike I am minding for him while he is overseas, it feels good to have two bikes in the garage and it is taking great restraint to stay off Gumtree!

Nice!  Getting rid of those huge mirrors really makes the RS fairing look a lot more modern.

Doesn't do much for hand protection though... Sad But WA's probably a bit warmer than here.

Yes Dai,
I only ride when it is over 30 degrees Celsius.
I used to ride in my crocs but you know those little holes in crocs? Well they are just big enough for a bee to fit through. Enough said!

Got a wasp down the side of an open-face helmet once. That was... interesting. When I did eventually stop, the little bugger flew off. By sheer luck he'd jammed himself between the lining and the shell.

No sting, not that time, but it was a very pissed-off wasp.

Unfortunately I live in fear of them due to allergy.

But my first hang glider was a Wasp.....and it wasn't powered back in 1978. Does that count??

A friend and I rode into a swarm of bees many years ago and the mess was something to believe between the dead and squashed bees and the copious amounts of honey (before bees swarm they gorge on honey from the hive) the mess was quite something.

No, long before phone cameras and digital pictures.
I was on the water cooled GT750 Suzuki but he was on a CB 750 Honda and the honey and bees cooked in the fins before we could find a place to wash the bikes and his engine had stains in the paint of the cooling fins for ever more and I had to run quite a bit of water through the radiator fins to get the mess out.

Went to a rally out in the Mallee back in the late 80's. Mice plague was happening, come round one of the few corners in that neck of the woods, mice all over the road. Made it around the corner ok, bit of sliding about. However, by the time I got back to Adelaide, the remains splattered all over the bike were nicely cooked on, even after washing, hosing and everything else I tried. The smell was priceless for a couple of weeks at least.
