On the evening of August 21 I was suddenly in charge of this:

Unplanned, but it was the only compensation available to me in a boring situation. Here are a bunch more shots of the thing:

1985 K100 RS as most here would recognize.
I was never a fan of K bikes, I didn't even know their letter LOL. In high school I saw "on any Sunday" when it was released. By 1977 I had a GS 750 (very hot at the time), a RM 250, and even a RL250!
By 1985 I was not riding any of them and off on other pursuits. In 2000 I bought another motorcycle, and today I have 2 great backcountry bikes, 07 250SX and 06 GG300txt. They are fully operational, so you know I had to spend considerable time with them

So I've been on a crash K100 course, and I can't wait to ride it. Have not ridden a super bike since my Suzuki, which I rode into he ground, in all weathers from Davis Cali where I grew up. I never met the guy who really rode this K100, but somebody was:

Broken Clutch Cable is sent for, and I'm going to change the oil, and check the basics. If you check the album you can see a brutal attempt to clean the beat up cosmetics was made with white paint, bondo, and poor masking. But the fundamentals seem OK so far. Starts right up, I was worried about the smoking....but it was on the sidestand, overfull of oil all winter, so I hear that will sort out on the road.
Short term I will get it safe and learn it with aero flow and fairing....I had a windjammer and stereo on my GS 750 LOL, then I will either try to clean it up a bit as a stocker, or go the way of many bricks it seems, cafe or scramble. I don't plan to sell it.
My name is Charlie, and I want introduce myself and say thanks to all the members here who have made this place an incredible repository of knowledge about this crazy motorcycle. I love it
