Hello from Central America. cheers    Big bikes are very rare down here and those that exist are very expensive.  So I was glad to be able to get ahold of this K100 at a price that I could afford.  I have been an avid rider for more than 20 years, but this is my first fuel injected machine .  I look forward to the challenge of getting the most out of this new project and exploring more of my new home with this fine bike.  Thanks in advance for your support and experience.

Thanks for the welcome.  Very Happy  I live in the central highlands but Nicaragua is a small country and I am about two and a half hours from the Pacific beaches.  I moved here from California 4 years ago.

Hola and welcome!  Everything you need to know for the K is here.

Last time I was in Esteli there was a ceasefire going on.  So beautiful there and the Nicaraguans changed my life.

Cheers, Andrew

That must have been some time in the 1980's when the cease fire was going on.  Nicaragua and its people are really beautiful.  It is still a poor and sometimes primitive country, but it is growing fast, and for me it is a great place to live.  My K bike is unique here, so I'm glad to have the support of the forum

Hola!

I spent the month of July 1977 vaccinating people in and around Siuna.

Here's what the main street looked like back then.

Still lots of medical and dental volunteers from the North.  They are still needed and very much appreciated.

Bienvenido! This beaut forum will keep you in the know with Knowledge. Post up the year and model specifics in your signature to make it easier for members to suss out any issues or answer particular questions you might have.

I have a longtime mate who moved to San Juan del Sur, Nic., a decade ago with his wife where they are raising their four year old son. He has a bike in Colorado (R90/6) which he has been urging me to retrieve and ride down to him. He keeps an 850 Lemans there. The furthest I ever got south (in the northern hemisphere, at least) on a motorbike was Guatemala, on a four & a half month ride from New Mexico on my R75/7, back in '96. I might be due for another long ride soon. Winter will be here soon enough.

Now an 850 Le Mans was my wish list and then I bought my first K.........probably a wiser choice but certainly easier on the pocket at the time.

But some wishes don't go away.....
