Hi guys, 1988 RT fairly new to me. Wanted to check plugs, noticed cap on 1 was loose, looked inside the plug cap and a little metal collar was floating loose. After taking the second cap off and looking inside seems this collar is the part which holds the cap onto the top of the plug. Bike has been running ok, a bit rough, now I suppose I know why. Question is, is the plug cap broken as described and is the repair simply twisting off the cap from the HT lead and replacing with a new one?

Cheers

Andrew

I think the Realm/RAM guys over on your side of the pond have good sets of replacement spark plug leads.

In the US I use Magnecor leads on my bikes.

If the 'little metal collar' has a screw thread in it - don't lose it!!! And don't lose the other three either! It screws onto the spark plug; it used to be that the manufacturers always supplied you with the cap, but not any longer. Try putting it back on the plug before writing the lead off.
