I am modifying my 1992 K100RS into a scrambler. Can you pls help me on how to remove the front ABS sensors? I removed the screws but the sensor is stocked. I tried hitting it but it wouldn't budge. I tried twisting it too but no luck. Is there any special way of removing it? Any help is appreiciated.

It should come right out once the screws are removed.

Maybe try some penetrating oil and let it sit overnight?

Failing that, put a block of wood over that and try to tap it out with a hammer?

The sensor can get quite corroded into its bracket on the brake calliper - even with the 2 screws removed, it is not unusual for it to be struck fast. I've come across a couple like that. Try soaking in penetrating oil as recommended by Duck.

If you are trying to get the sensor off intact, you will have less options, but vice grips (mole grips) may help with the twisting if you are not bothered about mangling the sensor.

When it comes to percussive persuasion (hammer), make sure that you do use a block of wood - the sensor body is quite soft and is easy to deform and you could end up making things even worse (gets even tighter in the hole as you turn it into an expensive rivet) - might be too late already, if you have already had a few well meaning bashes at it!

I may be wrong but I got the impression he was dealing with the front ABS sensor.  On the 4V K bikes it mounts at the bottom of the left fork, not on the caliper.

That made me think...and then go and look.

Both my K100LTs (2V) have the sensor mounted on the brake calliper, both front and back.

I didn't realise that the 4V models mounted the front sensor differently - my bad, apologies for not appreciating that K100RS in question was a 4V model and therefore different. Embarassed
