Are the forks off a 88 K100 and a 94 K1100 the same diameter?
The reason I ask is that I will be fitting a sidecar to one of the two, but the leading links I have are for the K100. I have measured them with vernier calipers and they seem the same, but the verniers I have are fairly crappy and I'm still not sure if I'm getting an accurate measurement.

No go Phil the K100 are 41.3mm and K1100 are 41.7mm but the triple clamps are interchangeable so that is the way to go.

Thanks Rick. I had an inkling they were slightly different. Next I need a set of K100 triple clamps as I'd prefer to fit the sidecar to the K11, since that is what I got it for.  Any other differences I should know about. Are calipers and wheels interchangeable for instance.

That's a problem too.  The K1100 forks are further apart as well as being slightly fatter.  Been there before.

K100 wheel and disks, K100 L/L, K100 triple clamps will all bolt up no problem. The 4 pot calipers will bolt on if needed but the K100 disk doesn't centre in the caliper.  The calipers can be modified(to centre them on the disk) by removing some material from the threaded bosses. This is what I've had to do to mine. I've heard that the R80/R100 disks bolt on to the K100 wheel and have the correct offset to take the 4 pot calipers with no modifications; I cannot confirm it though.

The K1100 wheel won't fit as the disks are too far apart compared to a K100 wheel. K1100 axle is longer also

Hmm - this is all sounding like more trouble than its worth. Looks like the S/C goes on the K100!
