I was browsing the internet and found these cams for sale from an S1000RR BMW and was thinking Hmmmmm wonder if they fit a K1100 because they do look similar but of course there is more to it than just that.
I then spotted the profile and duration on the inlet cam (closest and far right lobe can be seen) and thought holy shit it's no wonder they make 200hp from 1000cc.

never mind the extremely short stroke and advanced electronic injection and ignition systems rick

I do recall seeing what they call "monza cams" for the ducatiis ...with extremely weird cams and huge opening and closing angles  ...and some what similar to what you have posted

ii do see on the bmw sites some amazing hp figures for the new releases   what I thought would be hp is actually killowatts ....amazing stuff

Spends a long time near max lift.
Wonder if other litre bike are the same. They pull some big rpms also.
Duration is so long the valves must panic about being struck every stroke.

My zx14r cams are quite different. Very high lift but very sharp lift and fall almost A shape.

Seem to remember an American turbo company claiming they could get 200 bhp from a K100.
Just didn't say how long it did it for!

Most horsepower put in to a K100 must be Matt Capri's speed record setting -85 K100 with 312 bhp.

I'm REALLY done with looking at pots and pans while searching for this article (link above is dead and buried)!  Pressure Cookers indeed - Google is flush w/'em... Shocked

If anyone has an updated link or can upload this archived article I'd love to give it a read.  Lots of video on YouTube but the written word just has such a special flavour, hmmm...thanks.

Matt Capri sounds like he needs a pair of concrete boots. 
This is a good read, and their website is worth a look, it shows that there is a formula to getting it right, it's not just bolt it on and off you go.

Well . .  I dunno . .  about the wisdom of going for more

For $200.00 NZD I can get a chip from here:

which would give me another 15% on top of my 131 I have now . . ergo 150hp. Question is . . do I need more ? or is the 130 I got enough already?

I have to query the usability of  truckloads of horsepower, I mean, I can already do 100kph in first gear and 0 - 100 in about 3.2 secs. and am changing into 5th @ 200kph, and then into 6th at 220 - 225. What the heck am I gonna do with another 15% ?

Change into 5th @ 225? and then where to?

No . . the bike is already lethal enough and I ain't on the track. Just leave it be methinks

My dose of real-world practicality: At a recent rally the owner of the BMW hot rod (don't know the nomenclature) stated he gets about 27 mp/US gallon.  Now, how big is the fuel tank on that road bike?   Razz

It isn't a road bike if it's a "hot rod", it's a speed bike. Practicality? This is where 200hp from 1000cc comes from 44271 Maybe for getting to the dentist's or emergency room quickly. Smile
