Hi guys,
due to my recent thread concerning two sudden power losses, I set about cleaning the ignition switch, along with all other connectors.
The small set screw would not budge, therefore I had to drill the head off.
You can guess the next sentence...
I bulldozed through the plastic threaded tang on the white housing..
The switch contacts now cleaned and greases, the switch works as it should.
The damage to the white housing means the indent track that the position ball bearing runs in has a small hole in it.
Although not sufficient for the ball bearing to fall out , but I have no way to secure the switch halves together without bonding it . This is not something I prefer as any future removal would be interesting.
Has anyone else done this or am I the only numpty ....
Or...
has anyone out there in the uk got a box of ignition switch bits with a spare white housing..
or a better way to secure the two halves with permanently bonding them
Thanks for any replies
Bob
