If you throw away the battery covers you can use the K1/K11 baseplate on a 2V K100.

You need the little brackets on the tank too for a K1/K11 base.

These you mount on the tank tabs, where the battery covers that you allready have thrown away earlier was mounted.

I adapted a K1100 baseplate for my K75RT.  The job took about 20 minutes after I got the battery covers off.

First I removed the metal thingies that attach to the hooks that go on the bottom of the tank.

Next I put short pieces of 1/4" id. polyethylene tube inside the elastic straps on the base plate.

Then I tied a loop of 1/8" nylon line through the tube and made the loop so that it hooked under the tab that the battery cover attaches to.

Reinstall the battery covers and you're good to go.  With the loop under the tab there is no way the baseplate can unhook itself.  It's more secure and there are no metal parts to scratch the paint.
