Welcome Kalvert. There is a fairly active krew around the eastern states. Usually somethng happening on a not too irregular basis. Next is the Northern tablelands ride at the end of October. Jump in and join is the best way.

Gent's I've just embarked on a a Hybrid, Cafe, Braaap, Scrambler project with a K100RS 1989 8V..... appologies to all the purists, but there is something about this bike when i'ts naked that just screams "Beast"

Wow! What you have so far looks pretty good. A very clean bike. Make sure you post the excess parts you have so I can snag them

It'll be interesting to see a before and after shot. Q: What do you get when you mod a k100 into a scrambler/braaap? .....Scraap.... just jokin'  

Someone correct me please if I'm wrong but I don't think there is such a thing as a 'braaap' style. What you're probably thinking of is the 'Brat' style of mod. Braap is a Tasmanian M/C company that has been building a range of custom motorcycles for the past 10 years.

My advice for what its worth... just pick one.

Probably a good idea to put you VIN in your signature so that when you ask a question, others will be able to give you relevant information to your model.

Lets hope that what you build will be worthy of destroying that gorgeous RS you used to have. Good luck with the build.

Not trying to have a go. I'm just voicing what many here mutter under their breaths from behind their keyboards. We try to be a very open, friendly and accommodating community here.
As for taste. Orange may not be everyone's cup of tea (we have had a few orange spray jobs here before) but I was referring to the condition and completeness of the machine. Anyway, I won't begrudge you your project. Your bike. You do with it what you want. Just a pity to lose such a good example of a K100RS to an angle grinder.
I think many are seduced by those magazine cafe'd machines but unless the project is approached in a professional manner, many turn out disappointingly or end up being sold off as a box of bits.

I am genuine when I say " good luck with the build". I appreciate a good cafe'd machine as much as the next person.
