Finally have a bike again after many years.
'95 K75 RT that found me this summer with 15K miles.
Low miles but at least a couple of them seem to be on the mirrors, faring, etc.
No worries, I am a sailing nut and therefore am skilled with FRP repairs.
Back in the 70's I was a motorcycle courier in Washington DC on /2s, then rode my '71 R75 as my primary transportation and after rebuilding the transmission took it on a jaunt out to the Grand Canyon and back.
Moved up to a new R90 in '76. and sold it several years later after realizing that I was riding with autopilot "On".
(Woke up on a highway doing about 75 mph and couldn't remember which road I was on. ?@#!\?!)
When my son reached 18, he announced that he wanted to buy a bike.
His mother said 'not while I'm paying the bills'.
Within one month after graduating from college he had purchased a R100RT.
I have been living vicariously ever since until now.
Well, I have some minor things to take care of this winter: Engine Backfires on deceleration, Fuel Level Warning Light, Speedometer, possibly ABS, and of course repairing the cracks in the fairing.
So, I thought I would join up to be able to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge on the site.
I hope I will be able to contribute at least as much as I benefit.
Best regards, Rob
