Hello all,

Reporting for my required intro.  I am a recent K1100RS owner with 40 years on BMW's starting with a 1977 R100RS that I still own.  Other current beemers include a 1992 R100RS and a 2013 R1200GS Rallye.

I have much to learn as the K is scheduled for very complete baseline maintenance this winter since I do not know its history.  It is a 1993 with 27K miles.  Everything is working well including ABS and a "snick-snick" smooth transmission.  In addition to baseline maintenance I have the heat issue to resolve.  The seat is off to Russell for a proper refit (my 7th Russell) and I have one bike ahead of it on the lift schedule.

Eager to learn - Lee

Welcome to the forum Lee.

Looking forward to seeing this one and the others in some photos.

Sounds like a rather nice 1100 in your Kollection.

Olaf

G'Donya mate!

It would be the first place I ever fit then.  I'm sure in time I will disgrace myself, if I haven't already.

Glad to have you here!

Was that on Craigslist?

If I had room in the garage it would have been mine...

It probably was.  I saw it on ADV.  I didn't have room in the garage either so I pushed a Honda out to make room.

Why don't people ride these things?  The tires were date-coded 2004!!!

Newb from Danielsville, GA USA DSC05065-M

Newb from Danielsville, GA USA DSC05063-M

I have found it a joy to ride, and can't understand 12 year old tires with plenty of tread left on a bike that is this engaging.  I have the original bill of sale for it.  With accessories, taxes, etc. the original buyer was into it at nearly $17,000 and financed the entire bill minus the trade-in of a Suzuki...  and then he didn't ride it...  and neither did the subsequent buyer.  ???

People often get to a time in life when they can finally afford something they drooled over many years ago but don't have the time to use it as they would like.
I came across a Hyabusa here that had less than 6000km on it and was 7 years old and in mint condition. His business was going ahead in leaps and bounds and the money was there but not the time.
