I replaced the fuel pump in my 96 K1100rs. with this one.

 because the original one was screaming.
While the fuel pump noise is now quieter, it is still not quiet enough.
It is acceptable when he bike is first started, but gets louder after a few minutes.
has any one found a quiet pump?

Do you know when the fuel filter was last changed. A partially blocked filter will cause the pump to work harder, and hence be a bit more noisy.

The fuel filter was changed about 2 weeks before replacing the pump.

One thing that happened to me was that the pump slipped through the rubber vibration damper and was touching the metal of the tank, made a lot of noise and when the tank was getting empty it sounded like a machine gun inside a steel drum. I used a black zip tie round the damper to hold it better and all is now OK.
