Hello,

Just joined, been reading forum for a time now, decided it was time to join.

Have a 89 K75, in bits at the moment, due to that elusive engine rattle!!, have been following one thread on here in particular, hopefully I will be able to contribute at some point.

Take care all,

John

Welcome, John, from just up the road! (Well, there is a property called Somerset a little way out of town from me. Not you? Oh well.)

I have the engine rattle in one machine too, mostly when cold and then it quietens down. Also on the agenda for a dismantle, but not sure whether I'll do it before or after work on other K bikes.

Best of luck with the reassembly, and let us know what you find and how it goes.

Bill

Welcome John, from just up the road!!

Good luck with rebuilding and sorting out that rattle. It will be worth the effort - we are blessed with some good sources of K parts hereabouts and some excellent riding in all directions to reward the effort. Some very sociable neighbour, just a short ferry ride away too - well worth the effort.

If I can help in anyway, or if you want a coffee ride out when you're back together, please shout.

Welcome too from the sociable neighbours just across the pond. Hope you get all sorted and get to pay us a trip.

Now all you need to find is the Wild Atlantic Way.

Thanks chaps, very welcoming, appreciate it Smile.

Bill, lol I guess I am just up the road from you, but its an awful long road!, with a fair bit of water in-between.....

Born again eccentric, now you really are just up the road, so a coffee ride out would be great when the 75 is back up and running, thanks, and the offer of help, very nice of you Smile.

Olaf, thanks, wild Atlantic way?, sounds very adventurous, I shall look that one up.

Thanks Brad, bean old boy, very nice to feel so welcomed.

I shall let the forum know how I get on, this K75 balance/output shaft thing sure is a head scratcher!....

Take care all,

John

Hi John

Born Again Eccentric [BAE] has travelled a lot of the Wild Atlantic Way........we have met him over here quite a few times. I can see you both enjoying some very sociable pints entirely in the spirit of the forum.

Bill, as we say, is one tube stop away from us. As in aluminium tube.

K pox is a strange thing too. BAE got an attack over here last year and had to come back for treatment. As in bought a K here and had to come back to collect it, all because we took a sunny day trip up through the Sally Gap!.

Thanks Charlie, Olaf, sorry for silly late reply!,

Sure hope to have lots of fun, happy miles on the K Charlie, I had an R65 a few years back, lovely machine which carried me lots of trouble free miles, so hoping the K75 will be as good!.

Wild Atlantic way sounds good, but K pox!, would need a bigger shed......

Yes, sociable pints sound good, or maybe sociable coffee's when riding K's.....

One tube stop away, as in aluminium tube, lol, that's made me smile.

Going to try and post a few photos in the engine rattle thread, watch that space,

Take care chaps,

John

Hi John,

Just give me shout (PM) if you need any help. I don't profess to be an expert, but I'm steadily building my list of jobs done on my K's and have both Clymers and Haynes manuals readily to reach. Definitely up for a coffee ride (beer and bikes don't really mix well). I'm about to make the descent down under for a meet up the the krew (and a bit of work too), but tend to be free every other weekend when I'm here abouts.

Wombleart - a trip down S'oton way is always on the cards from Somerset, I hail from Lee on Solent originally and still have family in Fareham and Havant that expect visits every once in a while. It would be good to meet up.
