G'day

Wish to introduce myself. I’m from Melbourne Australia.

I own a 1997 K1100RS (163,000klm), a 1976 R90S (418,000klm) and a 1956 R26 (36,500klm).

The current K replaces the ’87 K100RS. It is perfect for long distance touring in all sorts of weather. The K models took over long distance touring duties from a R65LS which was using to slow down the yearly mileage on my R90S.

I’ve just returned back home from the Karuah River Rally in NSW (averaging 80kph for 15 hours) where I met a number of group members. While I was there I also signed the sKoll and was invited to join---- so here I am. And a hello to AL-58

Cheers
Frank

Welcome from this part of the world too.

Glad to see you found the sKroll. It spent a lot of time over here too and has been to Kiss the Blarney Stone.

I love the R90S and had a lovely run back from Wexford to home not so long back, in the company of a Dutch guy who had just come off the ferry from France. He had his one since new and had similar miles on it. Called in to see a friend on Wednesday and he was talking of selling his R69S that he has for as long as I can remember.

Since you seem to like the Kamping too don't be afraid to come up this way! There seems to be an expanding trail of visitors from down under and you will be very welcome.

after a few years seeing you either on the way to the rally around dungog or at the rally itself-----------------------Yes, I've become part of the furniture as I have attended every year since it started.

remember this ....from 2012 ?---------------------------remember, how could I forget. I had finally put aside my crutch only 6 days before. Tackling the dirt condition was a nightmare, an exercise in pain. BUt it felt great to once again be back on two wheels

Welcome to the Knuthaus Frank. I'm sure with a bit of effort you can be just a strange as the rest of us.

Rick,

If you speak to Al-58 he'll state that I'm the strangest of the lot. He's envious of me for owning a R90S.

Al says he is not at all envious of the R90S but he does go a strange shade of green every time he talks of it.

Will, Dacks (or Daks) = strides = Oz-speak for trousers.

Rick G, I didn't need any effort to be strange. It comes naturally.

Welcome, Frank.

You remove one exhaust, one carby & one spark plug, connect hoses to inlet & exhaust, the motor will run on one cylinder & pump water with the other.
