Whether it's an effect of the clocks going back and hour last weekend or just the effect of a rainy gloomy day in Bristol, for some reason in the space of about 5 minutes I had 'em all coming at me.

Red light jumpers, jay walkers, a broken down van in offside lane and to cap it all an indecisive motorist who wasn't quite sure which lane he wanted...or even which direction he wanted to travel!

Fortunately, the impact was slow and I didn't come off (benefit of having a foot on the ground and both front and rear brakes applied) and no damage was done. What an eejit! At least he got out, checked there was no damage and apologised before moving off again.

Just as well really - checking on line shows that he had no road tax and no MoT...and I suspect no UK licence (judging by his accent - he wasn't from around these parts) or insurance (but I can't prove that).



Days like this are exactly why I invested in a camera for the bike! 

Handling of your K will be sharper now due to the shorter wheelbase.

Had the same thing happen in the car one day. Nasty experience.

Great footage and not sure if you noticed his rear wiper (or lack off) as the blade etc was missing but motor was on.


Same as Olaf I had this happen in the Car (at Christchurch in Dublin), female driver put the car in reverse ...

Yeah, notice that...also the crack across the entire top of his windscreen and the fact that his vehicle pulled to the left when he braked at an earlier set of traffic lights. No MoT and somehow, don't think it would pass one either without some serious work.

Luckily contact was tyre on plastic, so most of the impact was absorbed by him. Funny how you subconsciously pick up on these erratic dudes and give them a little more space than normal. 

This is now the third time I've been reversed into while stationary - once while in a car (by a car) and once before on a K100 when a van stopped in front of me and then tried to reverse back up the hill..they just don't get it that there just ain't no reverse gear on a K100 and making them go backwards up a hill is difficult at the best of times!

Would the appropriate constabulary force want that video clip and the report you've shown us? Likely not, as there are more important things to do.

Nearly every day I ride, a car driver (or two) cuts in front of or across my path, pulls onto the road just in front of me without signalling, changes lanes into my path, or drives up my backside - until I flash my brake light or rapidly accellerate away from them.

Just wait 'til this whole driverless car thing arrives en masse, and it's coming at us quickly and without appropriate training or legislative restriction because Large Corporation(s) are going to make heaps of money at it, and woe be to those who voice a concern when there's the filthy lucre to be made. We are going to be even more vulnerable, and the onus will be upon us to ride even more defencively; to continue to take care of ourselves with little or no help from anyone else, all the while with markedly increased danger of inattention from drivers and their over-reliance on technology.

Then there's the bastages who ride/drive uninsured and/or licenceless.

Now, where's that second cuppa strong tea with which I steel myself before riding off to work and toil...at least I don't have a wildebeest or wooly mammoth chasing me down over savannah or tundra.

Those buggers are not self driving but they sure are self motivated. Seems like self anything is bad these days.

Maybe 'Road Wars' will buy the rights to that clip.

Allegedly, there is a web site where we can assist our boys 'n gals in blue with video evidence, but no idea where it is and I wouldn't contribute to it unless it was footage of someone doing something very serious (like hit & run) or extremely reckless/dangerous. I certainly wouldn't want to encourage highway vigilantes to be out there filming and reporting every little misdemeanour.

In this case, I did provide details of the vehicle to the UK DVLA using their on-line reporting service for untaxed vehicles. Whether they take any action or not is debatable, but I like to think they will. No tax and no MoT means, even if he did have insurance (though I doubt if he did), then his insurance would be invalid. No MoT means that a car (of that age) is almost certainly not road worthy and more likely to have/cause an accident. All in all, he could seriously ruin peoples lives.

It did make me feel guilty though!
