Hello!
Reading a while here and see you are friendly and competent :-)
I own 2 K 75 and like riding through Europe. Passing old towns and enjoying a coffee and reading a good book.
I just repaired my ABS (the reset Button cable was of) and put some Staburax on the drive train. Next step will be to do some electrical maintenance under the tank.
Looking forward to talk with you!
If anybody needs help from Germany, give me a shout :-)

See you

Welcome from Ireland.

Sauerkraut? Is that near Pumpernickel?

We like Europe too and you are right, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Some of us meet up a little too, so if you are travelling keep us posted and let us know. Some nice places over here too.....

A few of us here have in mind a decent trip over Europe. I don't think it will happen next year but year after very likely.

Hello Ireland!
Great Country, I was living in Cork (Sundance Hills) 4 years,
working for Apple, travelling a lot there and enjoyed a good pint :-)
Is the Franciscan Well Brewery still a good place to go?
Regards

If you pass Germany, give me a shout
And yes, it is very close to pumpanickel and frankfurter

Cork Toy Run is a big bike event.....go every year, this year its 13th December and it finishes every year with a big party in............the Franciscan Well Brewery. Excellent and the best pizzas in town.

Sundance Hills doesn't sound right but Summerhill might......

For the trip to Europe.......JediGirl lives in Ireland, she is from Warsaw and interested.
Sagi lives in Cork, is from Vienna and interested.
Now you have filled a gap between Cherbourg and Vienna.....

Glad to fill a gap between Cherbourg and Vienna,
they just have to give me a shout.
As nice as the Event in Cork sounds,
in wintertime I will not do a big trip with the bike.
Did a few marathons in Cork, maybe again next summer.

In The moment I'm happy about sunny days here.
Next week I'll take a trip to berlin, hopefully it gets warmer.

Cheers

And yes, the pizza is great in the Well, stone oven made

#1990k75 to be more addicted, make the other K run too.
A 1995 K, must be one of the last build

#TacKler we all are lost in space with our Ks :-) and you at least got good weather down under to enjoy a ride

Just took of my speedometer, first I wanted to change the light.
LEDs but they will not heat as much as the old bulks do.
And I have sometimes steam, when I go from the warm garage to cold.
So the only thing I did was to clean and add a silicate bag.
It helps!
From the middle of Germany | K 75 92 ABS & 91 no ABS Allemdindikator

The next I did was cleaning the exhaust, goes of easy and I painted the heat shield, looks like new.
com/view/19363801/2]From the middle of Germany | K 75 92 ABS & 91 no ABS Image11[/url]

Hopefully it gets sunny soon, otherwise I will have to clean and maintain the whole bike, so I'm able to touch my bike once a day :-)
Getting below zero her.

Regards

Yes, I'm Krazy...  Laughing

Slowly working on getting the 1990 to run again - I'm old, I work very slowly...  From the middle of Germany | K 75 92 ABS & 91 no ABS 905546712

Yes, the 1995 is one of the last...   Sad

Looking at the new BMW's the only one that looks interesting to me is the (forgets stupid model name Embarassed ) 800cc...

My K75RT is the heaviest bike I've ever owned, can't imagine the bigger ones...  Rolling Eyes

First bike was a Yamaha YL-1 (serial #8572, how come I can remember that - but not what day it is?) a 2 stroke (oil injection woo hoo) 97cc twin. Pistons looked like small coins, I could crank it over with my right hand. Blew all the Honda 90's out of the water... 72MPH flat out if I tucked in. Those were the days...

But I'm not 17 any more - actually 67... but still riding  Very Happy

Cheers, Lorne & Joanie

Don't worry about the age, not long ago a R80GS past me, I thought it's a young guy but it was 89 years old veteran, must be now 90 years old, he is with motorcycle his whole life, probably born on a bike :-)

So you got a lot of time left :-)
http://winni-scheibe.com/ta_portraits/luck3.htm

Cool that you are repairing the other K!

Cheers

P.S.: 8/1991 a few things have changed for the Ks
The throttle movement is shorter and the fork has changed from Fichel & Sachs to the better Showa fork

I remember the YL-1. Friend here just recently acquired a one owner one, from the original owner. Had a Yamaha YAS-1 [serial #13044........] similar 125cc oil injection 2 stroke twin......like the YL1 you could change a piston at the side of the road with a 10mm socket and a C spanner...........

As for remembering what day it is, that's not as important and still remembering what's a good day for taking the bike out.

Exactly as it should be. Anyway seems you remember the important bits!!!.

Remembering what day it is might be one thing, but remembering where you left your K when you go out is far more important.
