I am new to the forum and just got my 1985 K100RS from my brother in North Carolina. Trailered it back to Michigan. It hadn't been started in almost 2 years. Siphoned the old gas, as much as I could, out of the tank and put in new. Put in a new battery and got it fired up. At first it would run at idle and then quit. The more I stated it and let it run, the longer it would run. Took for a spin around my neighborhood, no issues. Got out on the Road cruising at 45mph 2 miles from my house and she just quit. Couldn't get it started. Waited a few minutes and it fired back up. Got a 1/3 the way home and it did it again. And then once more. No idea what could be the issue. Though maybe old gas in the fuel system still? Plugged fuel filter? dirty injectors? ignition issue? I can hear the fuel pump running when I'm starting it. Stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
