Die was cast and TacKler [Dave], 88KE and myself booked for France on Saturday 30th May. Sailing time 4pm, we need to be at ferry port for 3:15pm.

Camden Fort in Crosshaven is one of the photo rally points and its near the ferry port.

Cronin's pub at Crosshaven is near the Fort and has a lovely seafront outdoor terrace and space to park the bikes and eat outside, about 15 minutes from there to the ferry.

We thought a good spot for lunch and a chance for Dave to meet a few Eccentrics.

12.30-1pm for a leisurely lunch....

It would be nice to get a few along but it is a bank holiday weekend which may limit our numbers. Anyone on for this? Its a long way from Belfast and almost as long from Dublin. TacKler and 88KE will travel from Gorey, probably via N11 down to Enniscorthy, Ferns, N25 New Ross and Waterford to Cork.

I was going to make some witty comment like the fact that I might be able to manage the 5 miles from my house to Crosshaven, but i just checked the diary, and I will be in Dublin that weekend.  We have tickets for "Top Hat" in the Bord Gais Energy Theater.

So, sorry lads, I can't make it, but wish you Cthulhu's speed on your journey.

Shouldn't be a problem for me. I reckon I'll ring Will the previous day and join them along the N25 in from Waterford - they'll have to come through Killeagh anyway unless going down the coast road.

My parents were passionate lovers of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire and would have given them a good run for their money. Times were different then. Was funny to get a reminder like that.

I was at our Spring Ball on Saturday (black tie).

And cut a pretty good rug, quickstepping to "sing, sing, sing" by Benny Goodman (if I say so myself).

I teach ballroom on Tuesdays in Carrigaline Community School - I'll send you the brochure when the new class starts in September.

Ah well, was doing my bit too. Took my daughter to City Hall for the Cork Concert Orchestra inaugural performance....was an excellent evening. Next one is 4th July.

I will make up for Benny Goodman with some Food........try Iain Bellamy.....I quite like it.

Just an update for the meet up.

All going to plan at our end. TacKler due in Dublin on Tuesday 26th May and has sorted hotel. I guess a days recovery will be needed.

I asked Mark to come along, we will be passing his workplace on the way to Crosshaven. Like Dai he will be working while we think of them but Mark might get down to join us for a coffee.

I did ask a non K owner to come along too......trying to interest my offspring in the delights of a K but not meeting much success. Seems a question of image.

Must check up on JediGirl and see if she is on for the trip....anyone passing Monasterevin on the morning?

I met a 95 K1100RS last Sunday with 22,000 miles on it, in seriously nice condition. Invited along for 30th.

Why not. Would be great to meet you. Not sure of Simon's plans at the minute but if you want an interesting route you could go via Gorey and pick up 88KE [Will] and TacKler [Dave]. Its 3 hours ride time from Gorey [via N25 New Ross Waterford Dungarvan Youghal Cork] to Crosshaven. Takes you past Killeagh, about 25 miles east of Cork and Bjorn will join you from there.

Crosshaven back to home on the M8/M7 motorway is about 3 hours ride time. 2 hours from Dunkettle to Red Cow at motorway speed.

Called him tonight just to make sure all was well. Now settled in Dublin after long flight.

You plug him into an inverter.

In my case, the third 'take out' to check the process was a bit longer, but it worked in my case.

On a more serious note I reckon his decision to stay at the hotel for 2 nights to get sorted was a very wise one. Travelling back in time can be very exhausting. Will is meeting him tomorrow. I am 170 miles away from them so I won't be seeing them until Saturday lunchtime.

All looking good here. I live 15 minutes from the ferry port and can report an excellent day for K travel. I hear rumours TacKler is finding the climate [as opposed to the welcome] a bit on the chilly side but we will soon cure that. It will prepare him nicely for some Alpine routes.

A slight change in plan means just Dave and myself on the ferry today, 88KE taking a ferry to Cherbourg Monday afternoon.

Towbar did arrive, got a rundown from 88KE. I did suggest they leave it at 88KEs house to save time trying to offload it down here, I can collect another time. But a sincere thanks to all who participated in the relay run to Ireland.

Looks like a few Ks together for lunch.....
